Biographical Sketch

Though he grew up close to golf, Theodore G. Robinson’s career as a golf course architect evolved from his experiences designing residential developments in Southern California. Following training at USC in landscape architecture, Robinson worked in general land use planning before changing his focus to golf course architecture. While the Palm Springs area bears Robinson’s imprint most visibly, he has worked throughout the Western US, Hawaii and Japan and is long known for designs featuring waterscapes. The Robinson family involvement in golf course design continues with Ted Robinson, Jr.
