1930-2003
Robert Muir Graves, ASGCA Past President, was involved in the designing, remodeling or consulting of more than 650 golf courses throughout the United States and abroad. He started his career as a licensed landscape architect before gradually concentrating on golf design. Graves has written extensively on a number of topics relating to golf course architecture and lectured on the subject at the University of California, University of Massachusetts, Utah State University and Harvard Graduate School of Design. Several of his world-class layouts include Big Canyon Golf Course in Newport Beach, Calif; Big Meadow Golf Course in Black Butte, Sisters, Ore.; and Canterwood Golf & CC in Gig Harbor, Washington. He was a partner of the Graves & Pascuzzo design firm. |
