Listen to your client then let the site speak to you.

All sites are different and the architect should eke out every nuance the site offers.  The architect should take the golfer on a journey that offers variety with good core values.  As with each site, all golfers are different in ability, size, and gender, so your layouts must be flexible to accommodate everyone.
